This workshop covers Michele Scheinkman’s Vulnerability Cycle and Multi-Level Approach, along with clinical approaches to gender diversity and consensual nonmonogamy in couple therapy. Jean Malpas will explore intersectional integrative couple therapy, emphasizing familial, contextual, and cultural influences on relationships. Case vignettes, presented through summaries and videos, will illustrate key therapeutic frameworks and techniques. Approved for 4 NYS CE Credits.

Taking Sullivan's understanding of the self as a system, Dobrich proposes a continuum in which defensive dissociation may occur ranging from a more or less continuous self-system to a discontinuous self-system. Family estrangement is extremely widespread. This will be a a deep dive into this phenomenon and look at the genogram of a family in order to deepen our understanding of the clinical material and examine the personal, relational, inter-generational, and multi-cultural aspects of this phenomena.

This hybrid workshop will focus on the specific outcome and process resistances that are common to eating disorders, and will offer therapists specific tools to use with patients at the outset so that the agenda for the work is established.
