“I love my mother, but…” “My father, he wasn’t around much…” How many times have you heard these words from a client? Have these words ever echoed your feelings? Parent-child relationships remain a crucial focus in the treatment of eating disorders. As mental health professionals, we are trained to create treatment plans reflecting theoretical perspectives, yet family legacies are always present. Who you are as a person may be more important than what you think or what you think you think!  The stories we carry can consciously or unconsciously empower or derail us. This experiential workshop includes writing exercises, clinical case material, and discussion of countertransference. Come away more mindful of your family legacies. Sharing optional.

About the Presenter:
Judith Ruskay Rabinor, PhD is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, author, speaker, writing coach and consultant based on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. It is recommended you read her recent memoir The Girl in the Red Boots: Making Peace with my Mother prior to attending the workshop.
