About the Presenter: 

Lauren Wash, M.A. is a third-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, studying under Anna Bardone-Cone, Ph.D. Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University.

Lauren is also a graduate of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy’s (ICP) Center for the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia (CSAB) two-year training program.

At UNC, Lauren aims to build a research program that examines the impact of culture on eating disorders and body image. Her focus includes exploring the intersections of perfectionism, colorism, and hair politics among Black girls and women.

An important note about CEs: ICP is an approved provider of continuing education credits for social workers, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, and psychoanalysts through the New York Department of Education.
