November 2022 through May 2023 • ICP · New York City

Thursdays: 9 AM—11 AM (20 Sessions). First class: TBD.

Many clients who have successfully processed traumatic events are still unable to live the lives they hope to live. All too frequently, their lives are compromised by unresolved early attachment issues that have resulted in limiting beliefs and relational difficulties.

The ICP Trauma Studies Center invites you to join SP senior trainer and internationally and nationally recognized EMDR consultant Lana Epstein for a 7 month course to deepen your practical clinical skills. This course builds upon past ICP courses and teaches participants ways to integrate EMDR with other mindfulness-based experiential therapies (SP, IFS) and to reconsolidate emotional memories based in early maladaptive attachment experiences.

The course will combine didactic and experiential learning and, will utilize videos and demos to highlight clinical interventions. Participants will learn specific interventions and have the opportunity for supervised practice. Due to ongoing Covid 19 safety precautions, the course will likely be conducted over Zoom, but there is a possibility that the class may return to in person instruction.

In this hands-on Master Course that combines didactic and experiential learning, students will:

  1. Learn how to conceptualize treatment of attachment injuries, developmental trauma and DESNOS.
  2.  Assess client’s boundary style
  3. Practice ways to strengthen client’s boundaries
  4. Analyze procedural tendencies and attachment patterns
  5. Utilize techniques for working with Insecure Attachment Patterns
  6. Apply the steps of Memory Reconsolidation to processing
  7. Combine EMDR interventions with somatic and parts-based techniques to facilitate memory reconsolidation
  8. Have supervised practice.

Lana Epstein, LCSW, is an EMDRIA-approved consultant in EMDR, a senior trainer for the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, a former ASCH-approved consultant in Hypnosis, a Consultant and past supervisor at the Boston Trauma Center founded by Bessel van der Kolk and was a Member of the New England Society for the Treatment of Trauma and Dissociation Board for 6 years.
