FAQ

How do I know if I suffer from PTSD or other trauma related problems?
Diagnosis of a trauma related disorder requires a professional consultation; some of the indicators of a possible trauma related disorder are strong reactions to seemingly unimportant events, excessive worry that bad things will happen, lack of faith in the future, flashbacks, nightmares, difficulty with intimate relationships, and difficulty with moving forward in one’s career or other goals.

Does trauma treatment mean I have to revisit a terrible experience to get better?
While it is sometimes helpful to re-experience a traumatic event for trauma symptoms to be reduced, re-experiencing it is not always necessary or even advisable.

How long does trauma treatment take?
The length of treatment for psychological trauma depends on the individual and/or family trauma history, current support system, and many other factors. Some people get better quickly and others require length of treatment. Treatment plans are always individualized based on these factors and the individual’s personal treatment goals.

Do you offer EMDR Treatment?
Many of our therapists are EMDR trained. Your therapist will help you decide if EMDR is helpful to you.
