She continues to train therapists worldwide in eating disorder treatment. \nBefore becoming a therapist\, Donna enjoyed a ten-year career as a professional dancer. It will discuss psychiatric assessment\, the role and limitations of medications\, management of common psychiatric comorbidities\, and how psychiatrists can serve as consultants and liaisons to support therapists and other members of the clinical team. \nThis workshop is ideal for clinicians\, dietitians\, therapists\, and other professionals who make up a patient’s treatment team looking to learn more about the role of psychiatry within multidisciplinary eating disorder care\, with a focus on collaboration and integration across the treatment team. \n  \n  \nAbout the Presenter \n \nShervin Shadianloo\, MD\, DFAPA\, DFAACAP\, is a double board-certified child\, adolescent\, and adult psychiatrist and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He completed his medical training at Tehran University of Medical Sciences\, followed by psychiatry training in Australia and New York\, and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Hofstra/Northwell. \n\nShervin’s clinical and academic work focuses on child and adolescent mental health\, LGBTQ+ and transgender health\, psychotherapy\, and education. At Northwell Health\, he works with the Friedman Transgender Wellness Program at Lenox Hill Hospital. He is also Medical Director of BALANCE Eating Disorder Treatment Center.\n\nA nationally active advocate for youth and LGBTQ+ mental health\, Dr. Shadianloo serves as President of the New York Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Immediate Past President of Pride CAPA.
