Register now. \nAbout the Presenter:  \nJacob Pine is a licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Manhattan. He grew up in New York City\, and did his undergraduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University and The Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. He earned his Masters degree in social work from Fordham University\, and received his certificate in the integrated treatment of eating disorders from the Center for the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia\, a division of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy\, a psychoanalytic training institute in Manhattan.\n​\nAfter college\, Jacob had a long and successful career as a chef in and around NYC. He became interested in understanding more deeply the relationships people have with food and diet. He returned to school and began a new career. His love and study of music\, and his appreciation and knowledge of food permeate the work he does. He believes in addressing the issues at hand and treating people individually and with respect and understanding. However\, the underlying reasons for their eating disorder often resurface. \nThis workshop will focus on: \n\nOutcome and Process Resistances: Learn to assess common resistances that may exist and emerge. Gain skills to recognize and address these resistances early in the work\, or to establish a different agenda.\nTherapist Tools: Acquire specific tools to use with patients at the outset to establish the agenda for therapy.\nSymptom Advantages: Discover ways to positively reframe and maintain the advantages of symptoms.\nSafety and the Gentle Ultimatum: Develop strategies to ensure safety and set up a treatment plan effectively\, reducing pressure on the therapist to prompt patient change.\n\nAbout Presenter:  \nDonna Fish is a Level 4 TEAM CBT Therapist/Trainer . She lives in New York City where she consults\, teaches and runs a private practice. \nShe has been a faculty member and guest lecturer at Columbia University\, Harvard Medical School Continuing Ed. Dept\, NYU and Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy’s CSAB division. \nFollowing the publication of her book “Take the Fight out of Food” Donna taught workshops across the US and Canada\, hosted a WEB MD series on Living Well with Depression and was the keynote speaker for the Minnesota School Board Annual Convention. She was seen on multiple television networks\, and has written multiple articles for “The Huffington Post” and “Psychology Today”. \nRecently\, Donna was featured with Fareed Zakaria on the podcast “Go Ask Ali: Our New World Inside and Out” and can be heard on the “David Burns Feeling Good Podcast” speaking on Eating Disorders. (No.259) \nDonna recently taught at the TEAM CBT European Conference in Poland\, and she continues to train therapists worldwide in her eating disorder workshops.
