History/ Mission

The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP) established its 4-year psychoanalytic program in 1977, under an Absolute Charter from the NY State Board of Regents. The Program leads to a Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis for candidates who are licensed or are eligible for licensure upon entrance into the program. In addition to this certificate, the program also leads to a New York State License in Psychoanalysis (LP) for candidates who at entrance into the program have a graduate degree that may be outside the field of mental health.

 

The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy provides training without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity or any other classification protected under applicable federal, state and local law.
